(DVD9 to 1xDVD5)
1) Create a Temp folder on your hardrive.
Name this folder: Sims3. This will be the name (Label) of our DVD.
2) Copy all the contents of the ‘The Sims 3 DVD9’ to the ‘Sims3’ folder.
3) Using FreeArc browse to the ‘Sims3’ folder and select the ‘Caches’ folder.
Click the ADD button and select ‘Maximum’ compression.
DONT TICK ‘Make EXE’.
Click on the ‘files’ tab and TICK ‘Include only files larger than’, set it to ’10kb’ then click OK.
4) Again, Using FreeArc browse to the ‘Sims3’ folder and select the ‘GameData’ folder.
Click the ADD button and select ‘Maximum’ compression.
DONT TICK ‘Make EXE’.
Click on the ‘files’ tab and TICK ‘Include only files larger than’, set it to ‘100MB’ then click OK.
5) Again, Using FreeArc browse to the ‘Sims3’ folder and select the ‘Thumbnails’ folder.
Click the ADD button and select ‘Maximum’ compression.
DONT TICK ‘Make EXE’.
Click on the ‘files’ tab and TICK ‘Include only files larger than’, set it to ’10kb’ then click OK.
Note: You should now have 3 ‘arc’ archives in the ‘Sims3’ folder named as follows:
Caches.arc
GameData.arc
Thumbnails.arc
6) MOVE the following files from the ‘Sims3’ folder to the ‘Sims3\Support\VP6’ folder:
Caches.arc
GameData.arc
Thumbnails.arc
7) Using the Notepad open the ‘setup.ini’ file in the ‘Sims3’ folder and edit the following Line, as shown below, then Save it.
…. Change from:
CheckMD5=Y
…. Change to:
CheckMD5=N
8) Download the ‘Sims3_Fake.rar’ file from HERE and extract the contents of the RAR file to the ‘Sims3’ folder overwriting any files and folders if prompted.
9) CREATE a folder in the ‘Sims3\Support\VP6’ folder and name it: vp6
10) MOVE the following files from the ‘Sims3\Support\VP6’ folder to the new ‘Sims3\Support\VP6\vp6’ folder.
vp6.reg
vp6install.exe
vp6vfw.dll
12) Burn the contents of the ‘Sims3’ folder to a DVD (or Create an ISO) with any Label you choose.
